Hello! My name is Amy and I have been a Registered Nurse since 2005 and a Nurse Practitioner since 2009. As an RN I worked in the hospital, the operating room, and I helped mentor nursing students during their hospital rotations. As a Nurse Practitioner I have worked in Family Practice and Internal Medicine caring for patients ages 0-100 and beyond!
I have always felt that teaching and advocacy are two very important values for my work in healthcare. My goal is to empower patients to make informed, educated decisions about their bodies and their health. There are so many places to consume information about our health, and I take it very seriously that patients choose to come to me as a resource. I make it a priority to stay on top of the latest guidelines and I enjoy the fact that choosing this career means I will always have the opportunity to learn new things.
In 2021 I gave birth to my son, and I also gave birth to Amy, the Mother. Becoming a parent is a very steep learning curve. Statistics show that there exist opportunities for improvement in America regarding the care of mothers and babies in the postpartum period. And I can certainly add my lived experience to the truth of this. After having my son, I started to ponder how I could help bridge some of the gaps in care that I observed. Joining the amazing global community of Mama Coach Nurses and Nurse Practitioners has provided a way for these musings to take form! I am so thrilled to be in this next iteration of my career as a Nurse Practitioner and walk alongside new parents in their journeys. I am also thankful to be able to continue offering care to patients of all ages, as I have up to this point. All are welcome here and I look forward to working with you.
I have lived in Colorado nearly my whole life – I am an almost native who married a native and we live with our son and dogs in Pueblo. My husband and I enjoy the outdoors and we look forward to introducing our son to our hobbies of fishing and horseback riding.

Good question! We are called The Mama Coach because years ago, when Carrie’s first boy was very small, she often wondered out loud to herself, “Where is my Mama Coach?” and “I need a Mama Coach!”. Carrie searched and searched for qualified support and realized there was a need for qualified support for new families. We recognize that our name can give the impression that we only serve moms, but we will continue to work and learn to ensure our messaging is clear that all people are welcome here. Parents carry a heavy load, and do it with grace. All parents deserve support, and The Mama Coach is the answer you’ve been searching for.
We do not just support moms — we help ALL people. All are welcome here, and we are committed to providing you with quality support, no matter your gender or family dynamic. As we learned in nursing school, your family is who YOU say they are.
We get asked this one all the time. As Registered Nurses and Nurse Practitioners, having merely one method does not align with how we were trained in University to utilize the nursing process.
The Nursing Process is defined as, a “systematic approach to care using the fundamental principles of critical thinking, client-centered approaches to treatment, goal-oriented tasks, evidence-based practice (EBP) recommendations, and nursing intuition. Holistic and scientific postulates are integrated to provide the basis for compassionate, quality-based care” (*1).
Simply put, we will assess your child using our nursing training to determine the best way to help your family reach their goals, walking beside you all the way. You can choose us with confidence, knowing you have picked the most qualified resource to support your family’s journey.

Yes. As Registered Nurses and Nurse Practitioners, we have years of training on where to access credible guidelines and information. All of our programming is based on extensive research from credible sources.
As Registered Nurses and Nurse Practitioners, it is our professional obligation to manage client records and confidential information properly. We use an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) that is compliant throughout North America. Even though we share the same brand, we are all independent Registered Nurses and Nurse Practitioners with our own private practices. As such, we each have our own EMR that is private and secure. We do not share EMR or client information between one another without consent.
Often they are — the answer largely depends on where you live and what your private insurance covers. For example, in Canada, our services are covered under ‘Lactation’, ‘Registered Nurse Services’ or ‘Health Spending Accounts’. In the United States our services can be covered as well, through HSA or FSAs. Reach out to me for more information.
